Awful Management

Pros

The office has been recently refurbished and has a lovely new feel. Free coffee, fridges, lockers etc. Canteen reasonable price for employees Great history!

Cons

Awful management and leadership. I felt alone and unsupported. Please do not be lured by an FTC contract with the promise of becoming a permanent employee. I was strung along for 2 years, being renewed and promised every 6 months, until my contract expired in December. In late November 2021, the company laid off 56 employees on the Future at Lloyd's project....over a Zoom call. All left by Christmas. Those that were permanent were offered redundancy pay. Management have no interest in developing your skills, especially if you are an FTC. I was begging for training and was constantly rejected. I have worked both as a project manager and a PMO in the business and the PMO team have the highest staff turnover I have ever witnessed, with many complaints about the leadership in this team. I would strongly advise to avoid.

Depressing Environment

Pros

30 days leave and maybe location.

Cons

Lloyd's has no interest in career progression or making improvements to the work environment. Morale is on the floor and unlikely to rise in the medium term. This is due to the utter stagnation colleagues feel here, but also because cuts to the Corporation are made as gestures to the underperforming market despite the obvious lack of connection between the two. Where inefficiencies do exist these are poorly identified, rarely acted upon, and where action is desired, often subject to personal protection of senior management as their own private fiefdoms.

Pros

interesting; solid colleagues; global operations; ability to offer customer service and advice to interested parties. Interesting history; solid financial performance in recent years.

Cons

VERY male chauvenist; communications outside of London are quite poor; very London - centric; behind the times; need to have a more realistic focus of US business operations
