      Traditional job for life firm, modernising quickly

      Pros

      Products are fascinating Lots of clever people work here. Feels like a family. Truly complex interesting projects Good holiday allowance (25days min growing to 27) +12 days Flexi. Flexibility around work hours/some home working to suit family. Modernising quickly ref well-being, communications, diversity, flexibility etc. New MD promising (putting people first, improving culture). Lots of training on offer. Very secure job, many people work here their whole career, lots of opportunity for variety, international assignments if you want.

      Cons

      More work than capacity can cope with currently. Cumbersome processes, difficult to get things done.

      - excellent work life balance, with a custom working scheme and benefits - great community action with STEM and charity contributions - training and development opportunities

      - I&D needs more improvement - disconnect between the 7 UK sites - office is sometimes empty and quiet as a lot of people Work From Home

      Old boys club

      Pros

      Flexi working and good benefits package.

      Cons

      All the senior managers have all worked there forever and it's an old boys club. If you're not part of the clique then your career will not progress. This makes the management and senior engineers very resistant to change and only want to carry on doing what they have always done.

Leonardo is committed to demonstrating the social values expected of our current and future employees. In Luton 1 in 4 of our Heads of Engineering Programmes are women. The site has seen over 20 senior engineers join the team in the last 12 months with another 15+ engineers being promoted in the same timeframe.
