Pros

Work from home opportunities. Corporate discounts on hotels, rental cars, etc.

Cons

Company is not loyal to long term employees. I was a 15+ year employee who was promised a promotion 3 times in 12 months. Each time right before the promotion was to go in effect a different "policy" was sited on why I needed to "just wait a little longer" and continue to chase the moving carrot. 45+ hour work weeks are expected. People text, call, email and expect responses all hours of the day including weekends. Need to take a call from the sidelines of your child's soccer game on a Sunday; just make sure you are on there. I fought for what I deserved which was a salary increase and promotion and was constantly told "this is the best we can do." Then after I leave the company I find out coworkers who I was expected to train made $10-15K more than me.

Run, Don’t Walk Away!

Pros

It’s a job, if you’re desperate enough.

Cons

Lousy, expensive benefits w/ a $3000 deductible. You accrue time off, but can never use it. As a Field Svc Engineer, you’re expected to be on call literally 24/7, 365 except for scheduled vacations, where a coworker does your work. When the coworker goes on vacation, you have to do his work. In December Leidos informed FSE’s that they’re taking away company cars. This represents a huge pay cut since employees will need to spend > $30k on a new vehicle to drive for work **if** they can find one. In addition, they decided to reduce mileage reimbursements for employees. You accrue vacation, but can never use it since you’re always on call & never have backup. This is an extremely high stress, high burnout job. Leidos recently acquired an unprofitable business line from L3. Since they’re losing money on the newly acquired line of business, they’re chiseling the employees with tiny merit increases, zero bonuses, benefit cost increases & taking away company cars.

Pros

- Free fruit - You are a short walk from Lake Burley Griffin where you can escape to get a coffee or grab a nearby rock and think about jumping in to escape the micro managing and bullying from the ELT. - Could be a good company.

Cons

Bullying and micro-managing culture from the ELT, every decision no matter how small must have ELT review. If ELT dont get what they want, they will either verbally abuse you or give you an dominating look of un-approval until you change, no matter how unethical the outcome is.
