Pros

None, apart from the ladies I worked with who were lovely.

Cons

Where do I start? This whole company is shocking and I would give zero stars if I could. Pathetic, childish incentives, which aren't an incentive to a staff member whatsoever. Incredibly high, unrealistic targets which you can never reach, especially when a good day is when customers actually come in the shop. Many refuse to pay the extortionate prices and say that "you always have a sale on" and that they will wait for the next one, or ask you when the next sale will be. The company can't be bothered to pay for a music license to actually have some nice music in the shop, so an average day is standing on your own for hours listening to odd, country style made up stuff which often doesn't make any sense.. Psychological torture. Staff turnover is very high, as nobody wants to work here for very long. The store becomes very understaffed, increasing pressure and stress on everybody and making you not want to go to work in the morning. The 'training' is ridiculous, making you spend hours and hours reading from a computer screen instead of shadowing a colleague on the shop floor. When you're actually allowed on the shop floor, god forbid you have to ask a question or ask for help, as there will be rolled eyes, sighs and a snappy attitude from management.. I have never known such useless managers. They are belittling, rude, abrupt, unprofessional, incredibly catty, talking about members of staff as soon as their back is turned, they don't praise, they don't help on the shop floor, they don't help with customer complaints, let alone actually say "thank you" at the end of the day. Just don't work here, it's simply not worth it.

Pros

The team is the most friendliest bunch people you'll ever meet. I am anti social but it is hard not to smile around these people.

Cons

The managers have been stuck in the roles for years. The company has not moved with the times. The business is being shipped to Singapore

Pros

Most people in the team are friendly and you can have some great nights out. Many have met long term friends.

Cons

Where do I start..... Salaries are about 30% lower than high street, no bonus, no ,pay rises, no training, no appraisal, no pay for the first 3 days of sick leave, no support from management, no communication, you find out information in passing, poor systems, processes out of date, management stuck in a time warp, out of date offices, carpets stuck down with tape, toilets have mold, you have to work back time taken for doctors or dentist appointments, when the trains are late - they don't care, treated with disrespect, spoken to like a child and looked down on just that you can get a wage for £16k. The rumors are that Laura Ashley is moving to Singapore, so staff have to show employees from Singapore how to do their jobs. Staff turn over is high. approx 60% staff turn over, but nothing has been done. New comers are on short term contracts, as they don't want permanent staff. Teams are under staffed so you end up doing more than one job, for no thanks and no additional pay. No promotions.Very disappointing and can be a stressful place to work because of the work environment. You go to work, do your hours and go home.
