Pros

- company growth rapidly - colleagues are nice - office location is good

Cons

- open office but management is not open minded (e.g. they put the table tennis table in the office wanna make the enironment more friendly, but they are not expect you to use it in office hour) - company growth fast, but your salary barely growth - business given unreasonable timeline and caused tech team cutting corners all the time - out sourcing the tech to low quality indian company (tips: check the glassdoor comments of the decision maker's last company) - we had different challenges for our employees in working level, but senior management would hire management level just by talking - no career path at all

No vision, lack of ambition, poorly managed

Pros

It's a fast growing company, expanding internationally, so it comes with interesting challenges

Cons

The company doesn't want to see itself as a tech company. Therefore they don't have high ambitions for their product and don't want to spend the money to hire/retain talented or experienced engineers. Most teams don't know where they are going, there is very low ambition, which leads to: - toxic work atmosphere - not focusing on quality - no career plan whatsoever - taking too many shortcuts - promoting people based on relations/guangxi(instead of achievements) - giving responsibility to unqualified people - time pressure - investor driven - absence of strategy In my opinion it's mostly because teams are lead by incompetent management (team leads and higher) but also because upper management is unaware of what's going on in their company, they should be more present, talk more with their employees and take appropriate measures.

Thank you for writing this review and sharing insights from your perspective. We understand your comments regarding the team - we have a relatively young team that, despite it’s passion, does lack management experience. We would admit that we have had issues with miscommunication which does come across as having a lack of transparency. You make a good observation highlighting our company as high-growth with global expansion. This is a good reflection of the company's vision and ambitions. You also recognise this comes with unique demands on the business and people. We are striving everyday to bring about improvements to our employees working lives. This includes making sure we are aligned on compensation and ambitious when bringing on new talent. Our career progression ladder has been constantly reviewed over the past few months and every month promotions are happening across different departments, and we're excited to be rolling out an exciting and dynamic career matrix in the coming quarter. We hold employee feedback in high regard and have implemented ways in which to communicate your comments such as monthly townhall Q&As, monthly 30-30s with your manager, and the leadership team is always available for any 1:1s when our people want to reach out. Every 6 months, our people team executes our Manager’s Feedback Reviews where every employee gets to rate their managers across a spectrum of leadership skills. This has seen a positive reaction from the management team who have taken this feedback seriously and are striving to adjust and make improvements. Already, we are seeing the feedback very helpful as this round across the board - we have seen significant increase in all manager’s scores across all departments. The People Operations team are constantly researching methods of making communication easier and often, to address issues around management, working environment, and resources. Finally, we welcome your advice and propositions, in fact, a number of them are being addressed. We believe in inclusivity. We want all our employees to feel they can make valuable contributions on a daily basis. Do reach out to us at feedback@lalamove.com if you are open to stepping forward to help us get better.
