Pros

Absolutely amazing product, loyal customers. beautiful displays, new product lines, wonderful co-workers, discount, gratis, ability to build lasting friendships with some really cool people

Cons

Our store was completely roach invested for at least 5 months, roaches would crawl from under the displays while customers were in the store, air conditioning was broken during the summer months, there was no opportunity for advancement. I worked at the store part time for at least two years. I have two degrees in education and was finishing my final degree and was told I was not qualified for a job as a trainer . Really? Too bad, a combination of things left a bad taste in my mouth. There were days when only two customers would step foot in our store. What was hard about leading a team in training? I was in place long enough to train incoming associates, assist with the on-boarding of assistant managers and on top of that some times I would work 6 day weeks at a variety of stores. They never had an issue with calling me in if I needed to cover a shift or clean and organize the store. I was always professional and had an extensive diverse background in retail. Not that I am bitter, but the company really tried to downplay my talents. I definitely could go somewhere else where I would be appreciated.

Pros

Generous holiday allowance Pays the London living wage

Cons

Unfortunately, my experience at L Occitane en Provence was marked by a toxic culture at the managerial level. There was constant pressure to achieve often unrealistic targets, and despite the company’s public stance on inclusivity, I was personally targeted and sidelined due to my personality and physical appearance. Favouritism and racism were apparent, with incompetent managers promoted and protected because they shared the same background as the higher-ups.
