Cons

This company is the absolute worse place I've ever worked. You will work by yourself most of the time. There is not sufficient coverage to handle all of the mini facials, demos, parties, clienteling and operational tasks that are required of you. You are required to have "events" in your store on a daily basis. You are not given a budget for such things and are required to go out and beg local vendors for food, beverages, etc. Given you cannot leave your store to do this because you are working by yourself. However, when a local vendor asks you for a donation, you cannot oblige because we do not give free stuff. Also, you will buy a lot of supplies with your own money because there is not a sufficient budget for you to order these supplies. The sales plans are unattainable. Forget bonus, it won't happen. You are expected to stand outside and "lease line" to get people in the door, but you are also expected to answer the parade of emails that are coming in. These emails come from different departments and contradict each other, but when you question it, corporate gets defensive and blames the store manager. Don't forget to email every single time you sell a Divine. You will receive no less than 25 of these celebratory emails a day. People bragging and boasting about how they , in fact, did their job. Divine is the only item in the store they want you to sell. Forget all of the other fantastic products, it is Divine, Divine, Divine and Divine only. You can make your skincare percentages, but if you miss the outrageous Divine goal you are berated. If you don't answer an email quick enough you will be berated, but wait, I was outside lease lining and just got the email. TOO BAD. If you email corporate with a question, the same standards do not apply. You will not get a reply or you will get a snarky reply blaming you. Helpdesk is rude and make you feel stupid every single time you call. Yet, they are the ones that cannot fix the issue. Human resources/Payroll, a joke. Don't even bother, they go off of the buddy system and payroll messes up everything they touch. You will train new employees on single coverage. This is inefficient and frustrating. You cannot fully train and since you only get 20 hours, the employee will not be ready to handle their job. You will have constant staffing issues due to the lack of payroll given to run a store. Your schedule will change constantly and you are expected to drop everything on your personal time if corporate decides it is going to be busy that day and you need to work. Doctors on call have more free time than Store managers at Loccitane. If you want to take vacation and other managers in your district have asked off, you will be denied. Doesn't matter that the other stores are in different states than yours and will have no impact on your business whatsoever. You will be taking schedules, reviews and other operational tasks home with you to complete, as there is no time to do it while you are working by yourself all day. Mainly because you have one computer to do everything and it is also the register and most of the time it crashes. You will not have any support. You are alone. Accept it. You will not be trained and developed. You will just be run ragged and abused. No one cares about you. You are not human to them. Your health will deteriorate and you will be stressed at all times.

Pros

The products are effective for the most part. The gratis for new campaigns. The skin care and body care is good.

Cons

Overall awful place to work if you're not in a high volume location. If you have some challenges, reprimanded instead of coached & assisted.
