Pros

Business is growing so the perception that the job is stable and it is here to stay is high. Products are excellent and competitive prices and benefits are reasonable and within market offers.

Cons

Lack of posting job opportunitites within the company. Too many long hours days especially during peak seasons. Some workers overwhelmed with responsabilities than others.

A delightful retail job to have

Pros

This is a great ecologically responsible company to work with. Pay is quite decent compare to some other beauty brands out there. Great discount on products. Pride in knowing that the products you sell are helping local farmers and women in Africa. Respectable work environment and one of the better retailers I've worked for.

Cons

Payroll is somewhat of an issue, but haven't worked at a single retail job where payroll wasn't tight. Gratis is not always given out and I think that's the company's best chance to give the employees a chance to use the products without gouging their pocketbooks. Register system and inventory control are bit behind the times compared to other retailers I've worked for, but not too hard to learn.

Pros

L'Occitane was a great place to work. The product and training was exceptional and they prefer to promote from within allowing me to grow once a year for 4 years.

Cons

There is definitely a glass ceiling for income at the store level and the company doesn't pay their associates competitively based on the market. Low pay and little to no FT positions at the store level caused a ton of associate turn over. People loved to work their but the pay wasn't great and there was no security for associates making a Managers job more difficult.
