Pros

Working with kids is great, and coworkers tend to be great because you're all hired for your literacy and maturity, so I tend to get along with all of my coworkers. Part of my very positive experience with Kumon is that the Instructor at the centers Where I've worked for over a year is awesome, the best manager or boss I've ever had. She s totally understanding of personal life and financial needs, and is always open to her employees input. We had meeting every once in a while in which we all talk about each other's performance, and are all asked if we have any ideas for improving the center, and these ideas, if agreed with by most, are usually followed through with. Pay isn't amazing, but it's steady hours, and one of the most stable jobs that a teenager or college student could get in this time period (for example, I also have an hourly retail job, and because of the economy crisis, I haven't worked there in three weeks. This couldn't happen at Kumon, because the hours are set). It's not a life career, but it's fun, and stable, and because of the nature of the work, your bosses and coworkers will tend to be awesome.

Cons

Not much. I guess there's only a set amount of hours possible, as most centers aren't open more than 10 or 15 hours a week, so the pay is limited, but still, it's stable, the hours aren't going anywhere. It's hard sometimes to stick to the Kumon method of instruction, but you get used to it, and it really does work.
