Pros

The employees are some of the most dedicated people I have met at any company. If you are working in the Teaneck location there is a lot of opportunities for training and advancement.

Cons

The pay is low, lots of changes in managment, lack of communication from upper managment to lower level staff. Educational company but does not assist with Tuition Reimbursment only a small amount for ALL employees each year. That money could be distrituted to those that want to continue their education to be the best employee they can be.

Pros

Flexible hours. My boss was very considerate in acknowledging my academic duties and conflicts. Friendly atmosphere, too.

Cons

Very few hours weekly. When grading or inputting data, there is a very high volume of work in very short times during certain hours.

Pros

Health Benefits and 401K plan.

Cons

I have been a corporate employee with Kumon North America for *several* years. The company has changed for the worse over the past 2-3 years since the new "board of directors" was instituted with two North Americans placing themselves at the top. Fortunately, their reign has steadily eroded over the past year and the Japanese mothership has dispatched several staff from Japan and other parts of asia to wrestle control of the sinking ship. The reason it is sinking is due to poor management. The North American managers "lead" through intimidation and fear, and demonstrate no discernable leadership or people skills. The Japanese management remain behind the scenes and provide no communication or direction. As a result, the truly talented staff have resigned, and those who show autonomy are fired. Morale has never been lower and turnover has never been higher. The human resources department is scared, unqualified, and ill-equipped to do anything about this.
