Pros

Worked at Koch a decade in four separate Koch companies. Company culture is solid. Never once, in ten years, have I seen something I considered immoral or illegal. Good people - mostly midwestern. Koch doesn't recruit from Ivy League for a reason. People here care about their families and work good hours. Parking lot is nearly empty by 5:30 pm each day. With so many subsidiaries, there is ample opportunity to change companies, cities, and/or roles. Unless you're a Director-level role or higher, most people are moving around every 2-3 years. Koch is seeing a lot of baby boomer retirements, and a lot of millennials are coming in the door. Huge intern program (200+ interns each summer). Koch is responding fairly well to this and permitting individual teams/companies to be flexible as needed with millennial demands, however, this place is nowhere near a "start-up" culture. Dress is business-casual, most people are in cubes, there are no beanbags, no gym, no dogs at work. If you live in Wichita and work at Koch HQ: pay is higher than local comparables, and cost of living is dirt cheap. This is a GREAT combination. Koch cares very much for its employees. I've seen countless examples of Koch bending over backwards for people and their personal lives - illnesses, death in family, natural disaster, raising funds, charity work. It's really incredible. Open door policy - I have zero doubt that, right now, I could walk into Mr. Koch's office with a concern or idea and he would welcome me with a huge smile. Management here is so receptive and so kind. It's very humbling.

Cons

Very few. As I read through "cons" on Glassdoor, it's a shame to think that candidates may read them and presume the cons apply to Koch Industries overall. Koch has more than 100k employees, in hundreds of offices throughout the world. Most complaints seem pretty specific to one group or one disgruntled employee. If you're here more than a few months, chances are the problem will self-resolve. I've had more than a dozen bosses during my time here. Some were better than others, but none were terrible. HR and Compliance are extremely receptive to concerns and will shift things as needed.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. You are right that we absolutely value feedback from our employees, so thank you for sharing yours! Continue to foster all the pieces that make us great, but challenge where we could be better. You are right in that we are a large and diverse company, but we are focused on innovation and being agile so that start-up mentality is trickling in and will be a great thing for many of our companies. Thanks again for being a part of our success!

Pros

- Opportunity to understand different business and gain domain knowledge - Implementation of new tools and use it - Support from onsite team

Cons

- Training is not adequate in all the teams, they have the information in pieces, I felt there is no direction about the work. Most of the time, it is a self-learning, doing your own research. - My team lead is always busy with meeting, as he is also struggling managing his tasks as well as team's not sure whom to report about the work load. - Too much of training on MBM , talking about the same thing again and again. MBM seems to be good, but there is no plan on the training, contents shared during the MBM meeting are also irrelevant most of the time. - I am already witnessing lot of negative vibes here, being a new set up (3 years) and with around some employees, organization is heading to a different direction due to the senior management politics. - Very worst mechanism of performance review and appraisal. You need to show some marginal contribution apart from roles and responsibilities. However, articulating and differentiating between these two is a big drama here. - Managers are GOD here, they can play with anyone's life.. it is all about how they build that story about you. If your manager is capable of building good story, it is done - No transparency about process. They claim that they do not have a rating system. but there is a rating system which is not transparent to employees and termination of employees happening based on tht.. it is more of a one sided decision, employees side will never been heard. - Be in a mind set and prepared for your last day in Day 1 itself. My humble request, you dont know the truth. Manager and leader are using MBM not in a constructive way.. They use MBM as a tool to THREATEN the employees.. MBM conveys a different message but we are being told different things.. In short, MBM is misused in Bengalure and requires your immediate attention.

Pros

As per the first employee of Koch Technology Center (KTC), Bangalore, I have completed almost 1.5 years of tenure and learnt good lot as per technical expertise and add on values as per MBM guiding principles which is backbone of this organization. Now as per "Pros" I listed below some points for your help: 1. Work Life Balance 2. Salary & Benefits 3. Learning and Self Actualization 4. Respect and Humility 5. Challenge Process and Decision Rights 6. Experience & Skills 7. Client facing and onsite opportunities. 8. Incentives and Compensation as per the values you add to team and Org.

Cons

As per my experience till date, "Cons" are very few and it may be team specific compared to that of Koch as a whole. Its the best place to start working and learn and share new innovative knowledge. Cons: 1. Process need to be little stable/structured and matured, as this is new entity here in India (Started on Apr'18) 2. Hardwork goes un appreciated some times. 3. Sometimes, there is a dull period in terms of learning.
