Pros

The manager who interviewed me was very nice. The store manager was a very in tune with the store and pleasant to be around.

Cons

Had to wait two months for my first check because they lost it and then to get another they never called until i brought it up to the store manager. A lot of the managers dont care. I had lost my grandma the third month of working there. I talked to the manager who scheduled and she understood. ( out of state funeral) I had explained to her i would be leaving that Saturday( which it was Wednesday and the schedule wasn't made yet) and be back the following Tuesday. She scheduled me Saturday-Tuesday. Then i had called and tried to explain to my manager that she must of misunderstood me and she fired me because a family death is UN excusable.

Pros

Flexible hours and friendly co-workers. Time off is generally approved provided it is 2 weeks in advance.

Cons

Too many to name, but minimum wage (even for associates with override numbers and keys to the office) no raises, extremely meager benefits (you earn a paltry amount of vacation time once you have worked 1,000 hours) or any possibility of full time are at the top of the list.

Pros

-You get an employee discount. -You get breaks. -The pay rate is reasonable. -The number of hours you work is reasonable for the most part. -The dress code is not very strict (pretty much any kind of plain blue shirt with sleeves and black pants). -The managers and coworkers I have are very easy to get along with and fun to work with. -They train you well. -The work/life/school balance is good. -They will let you take time off if you put in for it enough time in advance. -If you stay there long enough you might have a chance to move up. -There are benefits. -Many of the customers are nice.

Cons

-The discount can't be used on sale items and it is only good to take the tax off (10 percent where I live). -They tend to stay on your case about Shop Your Way Rewards, Smart Plans, etc. -You have to ask the customers all these questions (about S.Y.W.R., Smart Plans on some items, birth dates on others, and now eReceipts). -You have to constantly override items because they don't ring up right half the time, and sometimes you have to get a manager to do it. -It is not unusual for them to be shorthanded (1-2 cashiers, 1 person at the service desk, 1 floor manager, etc.). -You have to work on holidays (except Christmas), Sundays, and late at night, but that is typical with most jobs. -Don't count on making enough money to pay your bills unless you really plan on saving up. -During the holiday season, it can be very stressful (you work long hours, staying really late then coming in really early the next morning). -Some rude customers, but again, that is typical with most jobs.
