Daycare Teacher/Custodian/Dishwasher/Bus Driver/Cook/salesperson/whatever you are ask to do
Pros
THE KIDS!!! The Center Director began their career as Teacher at KinderCare. After fourteen years later they would still never complain about having to go into a class and 'literally' get their hands dirty. I loved working for someone who never forgot what it was like, and had high but realistic expectations of their staff.
Cons
On occasions when responsible employee were noticably unwell, management would have them sit in classrooms to ensure they within ratio with the children, this resulted in the other teacher having to do double the work without extra pay, and the sick employee being paid to [sometimes] sleep on the job. The staff are not permitted to leave the classroom without having management or who ever was available stepping in for them. So if a teacher needed to use the bathroom they would have to call and request someone to step in the class, if there is only one person in the building not assigned to a class you will have a very long wait, my collegue waited over 2 hours, nobody came. She had to use the toilet that her students used, which is prohibited. She would have been fired if she was caught..
