Pros

THE KIDS!!! The Center Director began their career as Teacher at KinderCare. After fourteen years later they would still never complain about having to go into a class and 'literally' get their hands dirty. I loved working for someone who never forgot what it was like, and had high but realistic expectations of their staff.

Cons

On occasions when responsible employee were noticably unwell, management would have them sit in classrooms to ensure they within ratio with the children, this resulted in the other teacher having to do double the work without extra pay, and the sick employee being paid to [sometimes] sleep on the job. The staff are not permitted to leave the classroom without having management or who ever was available stepping in for them. So if a teacher needed to use the bathroom they would have to call and request someone to step in the class, if there is only one person in the building not assigned to a class you will have a very long wait, my collegue waited over 2 hours, nobody came. She had to use the toilet that her students used, which is prohibited. She would have been fired if she was caught..

Pros

My managers are very open when you need time off for whatever reason. The hours a very flexible and there are no weekends!

Cons

The communication between management and teachers is horrible. Kindercare is always worried about the bottom line at the cost of the sanity of the workers. Kids will constantly get shifted to other rooms to get an employee out in order to cut hours. This creates much added stress on the teacher when they cannot complete anything because of the added children. The pay is not that great. Slim to no chance of promotion. Only a week off and after 10 years you get two! Yipee!
