Pros

Friendly and smart co-workers. Kitchens are fully stocked and plenty work of work outings

Cons

New hiring practices have turned the company culture into more of a frat house.

Pros

Office looks great. Nice location. Treats at least once a month. Free fresh fruits and vegetables in the break rooms. 401K is good. Fun work atmosphere.

Cons

A lot of lies, favoritism, and exaggerations about your personal future at Jet. The tools and processes will make your job difficult. Reading the reviews here from engineers makes sense. Jet does not invest in what matters, they put bandaid fixes on everything including the tools we use. So in the beginning leaders would tell you anything you wanted to hear just to get bodies into desks. Then when they over staff, suddenly there are no growth opportunities. Upper management has absolutely no idea what specialty teams do (which they constantly admit) and in tune specialty teams are undervalued, underpaid, and unappreciated for all their hard work. We've got teams of brilliant agents that (technically) have analyst roles and responsibilities but are viewed as a customer service employee and nothing else. When we try and push for more pay or roles in the company we get shut down. Literally told that we should be greatful for what we get at a call center level (because again that is all they think we do). Also to add that Jet no longer wishes to promote people. Doesn't matter how bad a team needs leadership, promotions are a last resort. If they need leaders they would rather an outside hire than utilize the great talent they overlook. I've seen highly rated leaders ( rated by the top managers of the location) leave the company because of a lack of appreciation. SLC management encourages you to leave at any mention of wanting a raise. The turn over rate for leadership is ridiculous. Truthfully if you want a call center customer service job, it doesn't get better than Jet. They pay better than any call center I know of. But if want a career, growth/leadship opportunities Jet does not value your skills.

"We couldn’t agree more with the perks you’ve mentioned! As for the fresh fruits and veggies, my favorite is when we have kiwis! Yum! We also agree that we have a fun environment here. It’s almost that time of year again for the holiday fluffy snowball fights around the office. It sounds like you have some feedback for us, that’s great! We would love to talk more about specific things you are frustrated with but are unable to get specific unless you come chat with us. As we continue to mature our business, the tools we use will continue to improve. For example, we are excited to introduce a new WFM tool that will allow for much more flexibility with your personal life and scheduling needs. We definitely value our technical support (specialty as you referred to them) teams! Something we were pretty excited about was growing our Partner Operations team in a matter of 4 months from 30-40 employees to over 140 employees. Our technical support teams also make a position differential and shift differential depending on the start time. We look internally first when it comes to promotions for leadership. In fact, we have been able to promote over 20 Jet Heads to supervisor positions alone. That’s not to mention 5 promotions to manager level. Other managers and leaders have left the organization for various reasons, some of which were for better career opportunities. We would never want to be a barrier to someone growing themselves and maturing in their career. So anytime someone wants to chat with us about promotions, if we don’t have the position available right now and you feel it’s time for you to take the next steps in your career, we can focus on giving you developmental opportunities to grow that resume to make you competitive in the market. As to your advice to management--collaboration is always good and learning what assets any team brings to the table are critical. I’d love to chat with you about your concerns and see what we can come up with together for a plan moving forward for you and your career growth. Dave H., VP Member Services

Pros

Great start up company with plenty of growth potential where everyone starts in the same position and grows from there, IF you fit their mold of "yes, sir" or "yes, ma'am" ways and go with the flow, regardless ...

Cons

Quick to let people go from employment because of a disagreement with a team lead or manager - at least in NJ. They are also quick to release from employment when bringing up ideas that management doesn't agree with. Management makes offers and promises they don't deliver on. Management needs to practice the core values of "Trust, Transparency and Fairness", not just say them.

I spend a lot of time in our FCs and I’m concerned to hear your feedback. We’re trying really hard to minimize policies and maximize fairness, but I know sometimes there can be confusion when things aren’t written down. I’ll think about how we can make changes based on your feedback. I am sorry to hear your experience wasn't the best, but hope you’ve landed somewhere you love. - Nick D., SVP of supply chain and fulfillment
