One factor as well, sickness is unexpected, and not planned. So if you broke your leg, be prepared to use all your PTO days for the time off you need because Jet.com will not accept a Dr.'s note at all. I have asthma, and I couldnt sleep at night because I had a hard time breathing. I had to go to the instacare the first day, and got a Dr. note. The second day, my asthma was still so bad that I couldnt even walk without taking short breathes, and my inhaler wasnt doing anything so I had to go to the ER. I also got a Dr.'s note from them. So I emailed HR, letting them know the reasons I was gone for those two days. The manager and my supervisor called me about termination, and I told them thats not possible because I couldnt come into work and I was in the ER. I told them I emailed and left HR a voicemail and they never got back to me, UNTIL i told the manager that and he said he would follow up with me after speaking with them. Basically what HR told me is that you literally have to have to have a sickness where its contagious in order to get those days excused. Asthma is obviously not contagious, but it sounds like I would still have to go into work while im suffering, I could have had an asthma attack, could've possibly died, or passed out on THEIR watch in order to get those days off. Which is completely UNACCEPTABLE. I will not tolerate this type of behavior with the management and HR.
Also, dont look forward to a pay raise. I was working with the company before they launched to the public, and I was in member services for 4 months until I was asked to move to the tactical operations department. As months flew by being in tac ops, we were taking on more responsibilities and everytime i asked for a raise for the work we did, it was being "worked on." I also hit my one year mark there at Jet, and they STILL never gave me a raise. Come to find out that they were easily hiring MS agents at a higher pay rate than I was at, and everytime I asked for a raise its always being brushed off. It made me upset to know that MS agents were getting raises and new hires are easily starting off more than I am, but when I ask, im always told "its being looked into." I talked to HR, who told me it was up to management, so when I talked to management, they said it was up to HR. Sounds like we dont know who the raise is being determined by. They will also not give you feedback, I was denied team lead twice, but it was easy for them to hire on leads that worked there less than 4 months because they have "good relationships" with the managers, and thats only what the managers see, they dont even look at their work reports.
