Pros

Work/Life balance True hybrid work PTO/Vacation allowance. I had four weeks of vacation after making Sr. Associate

Cons

Politics and management will impact your career trajectory more than your work output. If you don't have a manager who has your back and vouches for you, promotions will be difficult to come by despite shattering expectations. Being internal doesn't matter when applying to roles within the company. Outsourcing critical positions has had a negative impact on the business overall despite saving money. There's no room for everyone due to the lack of real estate. The firm is stuck hot desking and reserving a seat doesn't matter as someone can take it. Maybe this changes when the new HQ on Park Avenue is finally finished.

Pros

Pay is good. Very diverse employment strategy. If you find the right team with a manager invested in developing their team then it can be a great place to have a career. Internal moves are relatively easy so finding a team you want to be in is doable.

Cons

Many staff are hired in the Product and Agile space without a properly defined role or set of responsibilities. The politics of this space can be detrimental because of this. Often people are hired to boost the profile of a manager having a larger team without great need. J.P.Morgan excels at hiring people from all backgrounds but some bad directors set diversity quotas on workforces which can make majorities feel undesired and minorities feel undermined.
