Pros

I've been with this company since the total number of employees was 200. Today, there are over 800 employees, and it is exciting to be a part of this exponential growth. Knowing that the products we manufacture directly impact patients' lives in a significant way (I don't think "life-saving" is too dramatic of a word) is hugely gratifiying. Level of respect & communication shown to all employees is consistent, regardless of position held.

Cons

Honestly, the only downside I can think off is that Intuitive Surgical does not currently offer a matching 401K plan to participating employees.

Pros

Intuitive Surgical makes a difference. That's good enough for me. I'm not hocking software or insurance services or working on something frivolous. I play a part in something that truly makes a difference in people's lives. Beyond that altruistic element, Intuitive is lean, focused, ethical and has a refreshing view on avoiding bureaucracy.

Cons

None from my perspective, although I know there are some in manufacturing who are paying the price for the company's amazing output. It sounds like there's maybe not enough focus on work-life balance in the manufacturing department.
