Pros

You learn time management and hard work.

Cons

They don't value their employees and view them as dispensable. Promotions are based on favoritism. The time off policy is criminal for new employees and they run the office like a prison. In before 7:30 am, scheduled 1 hour lunches and out when job is done (between 5:30 -7:30 pm). Going to the doctor was a hassle because you needed "permission". If you felt sick, you had to go into the office to "prove" you were sick. Feedback they give employees is completely inappropriate. My appearance was critiqued nearly every day, "You need to wear mascara." "You can only wear your hair up once a week." "That top looks like it should on a flower child." I could continue but you get the point. They asked a large group of us to write positive reviews my first or second month in. It still bothers me to this day I wrote one so here is my "revised" review. From my understanding, they have raised the base salary for Chicago since I left and some toxic C-Suite members have left the company.

Pros

Your coworkers are amazing. It's really the only good thing about this job. Being surrounded by a bunch of energetic and attractive recent grads is always nice. You'll make some good friends here. Also If you're a fan of working in a place modeled after the movie boiler room you'll love it here.

Cons

So here's the deal this place is a sweatshop for recent grads. You're going to come in an be told that if you work hard you will be promoted, but what their strategy is if we bring in 30 new people every semester we will promote one after a year and keep the other 29 on to work for penny's for as long as possible and replace them with a new energetic grad whose soul hasn't been crushed yet. You have to do the work of recruiting as well as set the account managers meetings and do all of their busy work. Besides that you are going to need to spend the majority of your time sucking up to the manager and making sure they love you since they will decide almost immediately if you will be promoted.

Pros

You meet some very fun, genuine people

Cons

Those people will quit or be fired within a year They discriminate against people based on weight, perceived attractiveness, ethnicity, social background when hiring internally They discriminate based on sex, age, ethnicity, work status, etc when hiring externally The environment is not "work hard, play hard" its work until you cant anymore and don't complain about it for a second They treat employees like children and time their lunch breaks, question them about doctors appointments and send them home if their appearance isn't up to par They frequently talk inappropriately about women and people from different races Absolutely NO diversity - so if you are a white, Greek like member go right ahead Upper management has no idea what they are doing- frequently don't have any solid advice for newly promoted people and it is truly a sink or swim environment Senior leadership is just as misogynistic as the entire company They will isolate you from any past employee of the company- no one leaves on "good terms" in other words you're a part of a cult They force people to leave the company when they don't like them Most of the practices are illegal and immoral
