Pros

Indigo is one of the most innovative companies for which I've worked and there's a mentality that we're all in this together. Everyone shares common goals so everyone is willing to help when asked. Jobs well done are rewarded with quarterly bonuses and there are free lunches if you work in the corporate offices. Indigo is a unique, mission-driven organization changing the Ag industry as we know it today.

Cons

This company is not for everyone. There's a lot of ambiguity, the pace is extremely fast and demands are high. I often work weekends. If you're looking for a well-defined role and 9-5 job, this is not the place for you. If you like being part of building something, you're creative and versatile, you will be energized and thrive at Indigo.

Pros

The salary is high and insurance plan is nice.

Cons

This company likes to act like they are doing really great things in agriculture, but anyone from an ag background can see that they aren't executing any of the "grand" ideas. The entire team from my state with the exception of a couple have been fired or left the company due to an out of touch, over bearing executive and her minions. Mind you, these people come from backgrounds that have nothing to do with production agriculture. They want their account managers to be software or pharmaceutical sales reps and refuse to believe EVERYONE when they say that ag is a relationship based selling practice. The one product they have that can help farmers, they threw to the side when they came up with a couple of ideas that make the company look bigger and better than it is. If you are considering working for this company, read the reviews, I haven't read a low rated one that wasn't true. They will lie to you and if you don't fall in line with their off the wall selling approach and or attitude you will find yourself looking for a new job. If you come from agriculture I can promise you it isn't all its' cracked up to be, and you won't realize it until you're in the door. Do your research and ask all of the questions you can, hopefully you can get truthful answers. You might also ask where the funding is coming from and that can give you an idea of who/what the investors want out of the company.

Thank you for your candid feedback. At Indigo, we are innovating across the entire agriculture industry and bringing new tools to help growers and buyers of grain do things differently in a way that is better for their profitability and better for the environment. Change is hard, and we recognize that. We believe that making this change requires doing things differently, that there are people from outside of agriculture who can bring their experience and expertise to bear to support this change, and that this opportunity to make a huge impact will require significant effort and dedication from the entire team. Because we’re doing something new, we are on a path of continually refining our approach, and recognize that can be challenging as well. As you mention, we are proud of our benefits and support for our employees but we also recognize that our culture of doing things differently is not for everyone, and we certainly appreciate the input.
