Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, competitive pay, benefits for all workers, even part-timers on a proportional basis. Not alot of corporate heirarchy. Fun products. Attempt to get all coworkers onboard with product sales, in all departments and at all levels. Chance to transfer to other stores if you wish to move. Willingness to innovate

Cons

Unless you are Swedish you will never be a senior manager at the company. Very closed ranked. Also, alot of favoritism that can turn on a dime...what (or who) is in and hip at one moment can be looked at as out of date and dispensible shortly thereafter, and usually without alot of warning.

Pros

Great benefits package. Medical, vision, dental, 401K, and tuition reimbursement.

Cons

IKEA works with suppliers all over the world. At times items that are more popular sell out very quickly once released and new supply can be slow in coming. This often frustrates our customers and they are not shy in telling us so. Quite a bit of time is spent defending the company to our customers rather than helping them. Most of the emphasis is given to the brick and mortar stores which makes our customer base limited. Internet and catalog shopping is limited.
