Pros

Great pay for watching movies, playing video games and sleeping while on duty. Great atmosphere for horseplay and fantasy sports games. Great place to get your online college education while working. No workload.

Cons

This company bestows no loyalty unto its employees. It does however, expect total loyalty from its employees. Management has created a duty trickle down system in which management duties are performed by Technicians. Hourly workers are expected to create schedules for other hourly employees. Management is not involved with the scheduling process therefore cannot control overtime, but management will punish everyone when overtime is generated. The schedule creators ensure maximum overtime for themselves. Hourly employees are expected to write their own yearly reviews and come up with their own yearly company goals. Management looks over the reviews and passes them on. The rating you get on your review has absolutely nothing to do with the amount of pay increase you get, if you are lucky enough to get a pay increase. No upward mobility. No encouragement or mentoring from management on how to achieve promotions or increases in pay. Management will tell you tenure means something and at the same time eliminate positions of its highest tenure people. This company has no standard practices on how to engage, rate, review and pay its employees base on performance. Management implores the if i like you, ill give you more approach to pay increases. Management displays no professionalism at all and this also trickles down to the other employees. The company uses a employee survey that has been so abused over the year that no one is truthful for fear of retaliation.

Antiquated Mess

Pros

Work/life balance. Nice, supportive team members (management excluded)

Cons

Will tout itself as a "stable" company and then lay off new, valuable hires– layoff rounds are typically every quarter. Pay is relatively low, raises (if you get any) are paltry. Company is FAR behind tech industry standards- we're talking employees openly admitting that they refuse to read or respond to emails, so good luck getting anything done in a timely fashion. Lots of talk of innovation, communication, and teamwork with absolutely nothing to back it up. Company's current strategy seems to be "doing the same old thing" and hiring back company veterans from 20+ years ago in an attempt to "bring back the old IGT magic" so just about all business practices and strategies are from the 80s/90s. Any practices that are considered standard in the tech or commercial product world are met with a primitive fear response and are quickly dismissed as unrealistic. Upper management ranges from inept to insane (or both.)

A Sad Shadow of a Once Great Company--Run!

Pros

Back in the Tom Baker days there was a teamwork and a soul and the company CARED about the employees. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. Now it is just more pay and benefit cuts and layoffs. The timing of the merger is probably pretty good.

Cons

Lack of integrity in the pay system. Nothing like blowing away your performance targets, only to have the company renege on paying to play the "bad year" card. The variable pay system is arbitrary and not clearly spelled out, so that they can avoid paying you. No transparency, if you do ____ you get ______ is how it should work, but it doesn't.. The products aren't very good with the star creative game development talent migrating to the competitors Generally were replaced with new college graduates This became a minor league feeder for the other gaming companies. The company has botched the people side. The 401k program is one of the worst in any corporation.
