Human Beings ARE The Bottom Line

Pros

Flexible hours as long as you are producing. Salary and benefits are good. Nice gym as well as a health and wellness program. There are many incredibly talented, creative and intelligent people who work at this company.

Cons

Employee morale is low and of zero concern to executive management. The knowledge of consistent impending layoffs has reduced motivation, innovation and productivity. Overworked in an atmosphere of fear has increased negative CYA behavior that makes it difficult to be efficient. Layoffs are usually followed by the hiring of new Vice Presidents. Executives are focusing on the online gaming world while not supporting EGMs. There is a clear disconnect between executives and the people making the products.

Pros

The colleagues who understand the frustrations of working at IGT.

Cons

Senior Management is more focused on painting a picture that they are innovative and indispensable to customers. There is a lack of a realistic expectations of how to generate growth for customer. Struggling to maintain their relevance in an industry that paralyzed by restrictions and a changing retailer landscape and mindset. This place is a case study in dysfunction. HR has no power, employee complaints and concerns are ignored. Promotions and raises are often promised and reneged. This one trick pony has been caught by the competitors and out of desperation has management reacting to maintain their relevance.

Don't be blued

Pros

Nice coworkers, newish building, free air to breath, tap water and coffee to drink, a floor to walk on, and some walls, some with new windows, and a roof. Suppose the owl family was kind of interesting, as long as you didn't mind all the pellets on the ground.

Cons

Blue.. Seriously, the company just spent millions to come up with a new font and be branded as "blue".. a brand "slogan" that is used in hundreds of other companies branding slogans and names.. Good job... For those looking for jobs read these reviews and then consider looking for a job elsewhere. If you do choose to apply then be prepared to make a high salary demand as that will more than likely be your working wage for your time with the company 2% annual is about the best you can get, if that. An earlier review explains the merit pool fairly well. That is of course if there isn't a nearly permanent hiring freeze going on. The job postings may or may not be able to be filled, even if an interview happens. If you one of the chosen ones, I'm sorry. Hopefully you made it into one of the few departments that might have a budget left. Realize that your coworkers might be slightly to busy to train you formally as they now have to do the work of the people who were laid off or just left. As for formal training, certification and such, don't count on it, unless it is a management buzz word in name.
