Pros

Management is so dysfunctional that there is absolutely no accountability... if that is the kind of workplace one is seeking. If you work for the right person, you will not need skills or education to get ahead. Just an ability to tolerate the intolerable.

Cons

Executive Management is focused on making the company look good on paper while sucking the life out of the employee moral. Talent is not developed internally; they prescribe to the philosophy of not wasting money on employees that will leave you. Employees can never believe anything they are told about the companies direction. Goal seem to change annually so it is difficult to really sink your heart into anything.

Pros

New logo! .. And more parking spots due to all of the layoffs. Rumor is more layoffs coming soon .. = more parking spots!

Cons

Terrible management team. Company bloated with VPs and Directors most of whom are in over their heads and probably just biding time until they can find a job somewhere else. Nervous workforce, everyone worried about jobs. If company sells to foreign buyer (GTECH) Reno office is fat target for closure. Anyone good who has options has split. Those stuck in Reno are .. stuck in Reno. Sad to learn Patti Hart makes $8m per year (look it up, public info) while she has destroyed so much shareholder value and reputation and morale. She can't manage the company to profitability and can only get the stock price up inorganically, via raising a white flag and announcing the company is for sale. She and her cronies will get their change of management bonus soon and be out. But it's too late to turn around, the company is years behind where it needs to be and smaller more nimble competitors are eating its lunch -- while the industry itself is going through a painful transformation due to globalization and a shift to a younger target gambler. IGT is not positioned to be strong in either vertical.

Pros

Can use a stale calzone from the cafeteria to commit suicide. Nine dollar garbanzo bean salads. The coffee finally has flavor. Free binders. Tangerine golf shirts for middle management. Plenty of vacant conference rooms to nap in.

Cons

People whining about the layoffs. The best part of working here is getting fired from here. One of the dumbest re-branding campaigns in history. The people worth getting a drink with left long ago.
