Pros

Nothing that other companies cannot offer as well

Cons

- HR is totally non-existent, they have ZERO power and are scared to death to lose their jobs as well (not a bad idea). They have no clue about what "Talent management" means. - The group is ludicrously disorganized, fragmented, without common vision and global accountability in terms of technology solutions and market approach. This has been going on for years now, with no sign to get any better any time soon - Every internal reorganization is sistematically leading to the worse, being carried out by totally inadequate "managers" - People (including managers, to be honest) are laid-off every other day, but nobody knows why and - more importantly - they are not getting replaced (or the "replacements" are significantly worse) - New "managers" are not jus incompetent, but they also refuse responsibilities and are totally unhelpful, as they know full well that it's just a matter of time and it will be their turn to be booted out - Internal communication is so bad that I have no words to really describe it. You won't believe it. - The bleeding of good people is now unstoppable, but nobody seem to care about (as long as they save money, of course...) - IGT stock price fell 50% in just 6 months, should I say more? Is that maybe because they have 7,5B US$ of debt (in a dying industry) and they are so poorly managed ?

Pros

The best things about working for IGT are the coworkers and the work life balance. The non-management and even lower management people are some of the best people to work with, they are knowledgeable, helpful and decent people. The work life balance is good to great, depending on team.

Cons

The worst things about IGT are the CEO, the upper management, and the lack of career advancement opportunities. The layoffs have been routine, and now dozens of good employees have been all fired for possessing a list of people laid off after the fact, generated from information internally accessible to everyone. These people all lost their jobs over an offense no sane person would think was wrong, since you could easily tell who was laid off and who wasn't by walking through the halls, checking internal IM or email. The directive to fire everyone involved came from the CEO directly and both middle management and team leads had no idea their employees were even missing from their desk until after the fact. With all the layoffs and wanton firings, no employee has a chance for promotion or career advancement when keeping your job is such an unknown.

Pros

The people I work with are awesome! Everyone is easy to work with, is helpful, is optimistic, and works hard. The office location is great!

Cons

While the office I work in is great, upper management has no clue what they are doing. The only thing they know how to do is arbitrarily cut valuable employees to "cut costs" and fudge a few extra numbers so they don't look as horrible to investors. Meanwhile the employees which are left have to pick up the slack of people that have been let go or have left for better opportunities with the expectation that all the deadlines are still to be met. But who cares about the employees or if the company will survive when you still get paid millions and have a golden parachute that would probably be enough for 10-20 people to retire on. I feel like if I worked somewhere and did as horrible of a job as our upper management does here, I would get fired, and probably sued, or maybe worse... Not here though. Here our upper management still gets to enjoy their huge paychecks and bonuses while flying first class while the company slowly implodes due to their decisions. If you do some research on the board of directors and previous companies our CEO has been at it will give you a good idea of what is going, what happened, and what the future holds for this company. Very sad to see such a great company be destroyed.
