Pros

ICBA has established an culture where every employee strives to accomplish the mission of creating and promoting an environment where community banks flourish. The executive leadership team is led by a visionary CEO, who, as a 3rd generation banker, understands the Association's membership on a more personal level than anyone could, and this shows by her dedication to its employees. The CFO and her staff work across the various departments and subsidiary companies to provide an unparalleled level of attentive, efficient, and effective customer service to all stakeholders and the Chief of Staff works to bring everyone together in an inclusive and collaborative manner across states lines. The education department is top notch, convention is of the highest quality you will go to, and government relations team is one of the most effective you will find inside the beltway. Oh, and the benefits are amongst the best in DC … by far.

Cons

At times, the organization can get caught up in it's own complexities and that encourages a reporting structure that is unclear across its subsidiary companies.

Pros

Engaged membership who value the association, excellent benefits, some room to grow if you know where to look. Excellent work-life balance.

Cons

Entirely too top heavy with more than 25% of employees as senior management and another 40% vice presidents. Those at the top make obscene amounts of money and that does not "trickle down" to rank and file employees.

Cons

Lack of upward mobility or promotability Poor internal communication Low employee morale/employees fear management Employees are equipment in attaining the organizations goals Poor salaries/low pay Very antiquated hierarchy of management who hold onto power instead of empowering others Non-functioning human resources department/high turnover in the roll Employees are sometimes bullied by managers Poor performers and abusive managers are not dealt with, fired or disciplined.
