There is always something happening, and interesting technology challenges that revolve around the unique business model. Pay is high if you are not in the LA or European offices.

Cons

Bought by private equity and being run into the ground. Hilton is not a good bet right now from a career perspective. Wait until the layoffs, outsourcing and restructuring are complete sometime in 2009. The company lacks solid management and is not process driven. This can be frustrating if you come from a more structured organization with documented, repeatable business processes. The organization is not standardized or structured for efficiency.

Pros

Fun people to work with, busy all yesr round so always get decent hours,and pay compared to other hotels in the area is good.

Cons

the politics, its not how skilled or how hard a worker you are, its more of who you know almost impossible to get time off during the busy summer season, and the late hours mean I don't get to see my kids as much as I would like to.

co workers were competent,,, it has a low employee turnover rate,,, some have been there for 7 years or more, The clientele is consistent, for that reason, so is the pay in tipped positions. Management is fair for the most part and is very understanding in cases of family or personal issues. Possibility of working other positions in the hotel or restaraunt guarantees at least 40 hours per week.

Cons

location,, canonsburg is a bit out of the way. Management tier is confusing.. 1 G.M. ,,, 2 managers, 1 asst mangager, 2 shift leaders... hard to get all on the same page. VERY hard to get a promotion there
