Pros

You get to drive different cars

Cons

I only stayed three days, I saw so many red flags. First and foremost, I was told the wrong location for my first day. They schedule me to start while our location was understaffed because the bm was on vacation. They lied about the hours, I was working 12 hours (which is fine, but atleast be honest). The biggest reason why I left in such a short time is because everyone I encountered who donned a hertz uniform looked absolutely miserable and defeated. I saw countless customers being lied to. Constant anger from co workers, it really seemed like this place sucked the life out of these people. I'm aware that a job isn't supposed to be easy. A job should challange you, but not your ethics. A lot of these reviews are very cliche and fake and quite frankly sound made up. Do youself a favor and look harder for a job if you're a recent college grad its worth the extra time searching I would only advocate working here if you're truly desperate for work and working at walmart

Pros

Free Gas, Car Insurance & driving around a new car!

Cons

As a location manager, you are more of a salaried shift leader than an actual manager. You catch all the hell from the unhappy customers, run around supporting/working like a slave while the hourly employees are rewarded with uncapped bonuses and the same vacation benefits as you! There's nothing more depressing than finding out the people you are supposed to 'manage' make more than you while working half the amount of time! With corporate limiting staffing to the bear minimum, location managers are forced to work 11-12 hour shifts (x5) in order to keep things afloat. During busy season location managers are forced to work along side all of their hourly employees for majority of their shifts (renting/cleaning cars/parking cars etc.) rather than actually managing. Often times managers are forced to come in on their off days to compete their managerial duties and paperwork since their is little time during their actual work week to do so. **Also like to note that while managers step up in place of hour employees, they do not receive any bonus compensation for revenue they bring in, while the counter sales reps get anywhere between 2-10% of revenue they bring in (once they hit a low sales goal). But when your sales numbers aren't very high, you are harassed just like the counter sales reps*** Corporate uses the Free Car/Gas/Insurance Perk as justification for lousy salary and embarrassing quarterly bonuses. Its a great perk but considering all the stress & hell location managers have to deal with on a daily basis, after a while it wasn't worth it! (Around the 6 month mark I was ready to jump ship)

Pros

Promotion/Bonus Potential Drive New Cars Learn About Business

Cons

You will work around 60hrs a week with essentially angry people confronting you all day Cleaning cars in professional business attire Bonus Structure Setup to Payout Very Little No, and I truly mean no, support from upper management; only interaction is when goals (sometimes legitimate and obtainable, most times not) are not being met. Threats of firings are the standard form of motivation Constant Turnover Zero life work balance (What good is driving a car home if you are too wornout to do anything after work?) Initially trained for a week and then almost totally on one's own All this for 10-11 an hour I am not disgruntled, merely providing a realisitic view of working for Hertz from a fairly normal person because it seems upper management is attempting to dilute the true results of this useful 3rd-Party Website...
