Pros

-Good introduction to basic business practices for recent grads who may not have majored in Business/Marketing. -Wear a variety of different hats. Though you don't delve deeply into any specific business discipline. -If you ever, at some point, want to own your business of any kind it's a solid orientation into what that is like.

Cons

-Extremely disjointed at multiple levels. The Right hand has no idea what the Left hand is doing, nor does it matter or does anyone care. -HR really struggles. Focus should be on hiring young, green, recent college grads. That is NOT the focus. -Bonus structure is... Well it's hard to say what the bonus structure is because it is changed so often with very little explanation. 9 months ago accounting allocations were changed and the processes by which they have been changed have still yet to be explained. Region controllers don't have the answers, or access to reports to find out the answers. -Real Estate will not invest in existing structures. Getting a remodel or a fresh coat of paint is like pulling teeth.

Terrible Employer

Pros

If you are hourly you will get plenty of overtime, even if you don't want it. Standard days are 10 hours, but usually more due to under staffing.

Cons

The company is run by a bunch of idiots. They institute policies that cripple business, and the front line employees have to circumvent the policies to anything done. With the most recent buyout of another car rental business, they laid off the old big wig idiots who knew a little about Hertz, and now we have new big wig idiots who know their car rental company, and nothing of Hertz. Be careful when they talk about bonus potential, because they will change the criteria on a dime to ensure you miss goals. Forget about going to human resources, they are worthless as well. Any time they were called to help with employee issues or staffing problems, it would take an act of God to get them to call you back. Couple that with a new city manager who provided zero help to problems, and instead would give you "atta boys" and "it will get betters", it's amazing these idiots can function in society. I would avoid this company like the plague. If you read this review and still want to work at Hertz, than you are an idiot too, and will fit right in.

Pros

There are some great people that work at the company.

Cons

The onboarding process needs to move into the 21st century. There is no way that people should join the company and not have the proper technilogy to perform their jobs........It should not take 2 weeks to get access to email upoin starting..... You are basically sitting around with nothing to do once you join because either you dont have a computer or if you do, you don't have access to any of the applications you need.
