Pros

If you are young and out of college looking for something, because they seem to only hire very young managers.

Cons

Constantly understaffed and told "why didn't you get it done". Upper management sets unrealistic goals without having a clue themselves. If you happen to reach the goal by accident - not to worry, they will raise it more. They have a habit of chewing up staff and spitting them out, and they only promote their friends.

Pros

Great benefits from the company. Probably the best benefits package of any in the industry. Healthcare is top notch, retirement and other compensation is comparable to competitors.

Cons

They will work the manager to death. The first job of the manager is running the business, making sure that all the staff is performing to their peak potential, and foremost taking care of the customers. Hertz Equipment Rental believes that the manager's first duty is to complete spreadsheets and spend hours each week on useless conference calls. Take the job and you will realize that you should have went into sales with the company. The Branch Manager is expected to perform all of their duties plus those of others. The company promises the world but delivers the septic tank.

Pros

Transporters have an easy, sometimes enjoyable job. There is plenty of opportunities for MiTs to advance, but unlikely to proceed past BMs.

Cons

Long shifts. Management really needs to figure out their turnover problem is caused from inside the company, not because the company deals with sales (have heard this many times from upper level managers). Overly competitive from the inside - creates chaos for the area. Branches typically are understaffed and under-supplied with cars. Poor working environment
