Pros

-Good for recent college grads with no work experience. -Company offers health benefits -...

Cons

-Usually understaffed -Reservation system is not sophisticated enough to prevent overbooking, leads to having to deal with irate customers who can't rent a car they reserved -Mid and upper level management only care about sales numbers, much less about the development of their employees -Old computers, lack of reliable IT support -Having to wash cars year-round in business attire -Long hours, low pay -Not a very professional environment (management will often swear at employees, yell at employees, etc.)

Pros

If you dig there are some pros to the job. Hertz is a fortune 500 company. You get the experience for working for a fortune 500 company as a manager trainee. You will learn many different sales and customer service techniques, while learning how to successfully manage a fleet of vehicles. You get paid every week. Another pro would be the numerous discounts you can receive from working there. If you stay long enough, you will gain good benefits as well.

Cons

The pay freaking sucks. We know it is an entry level position but don't pay us like high school students. You must have a college degree to work there so the pay should be increased. To make up for the terrible pay you have to work long hours every week just to try to get by. You will end up working 55-60 hours per week. If you don't have a porter you will end up cleaning out the cars. Unrealistic sales goals for some branches is another problem.
