Pros

-It looks good on your resume. -It's a job. -My coworkers were generally cool people to work with. -You get to drive some nice cars . -If you're good at sells, you can advance quickly.

Cons

-This company only cares about one thing, sales. The term "management trainee" is quite deceptive, it should be called "sales trainee." You learn some management skills, but this is a sales job first and foremost. You are under serious pressure to sell their damage waivers, fuel options and car upgrades. You can actually be fired if you can't reach sales goals three months in a row as an MT within one year. You can have excellent management and customer service skills, but if aren't a good seller, you will not advance. You pretty much have to be a slick, manipulative talker with no shame to succeed with this company. Your goal literally is to extract as much money anyway you legally can from everyone that walks into your branch. This job is seriously only a couple steps above a sleazy car salesman. -The pay absolutely sucks. There are fast food workers that make more and don't have the added pressures this position entails. -Constantly short on vehicles to rent out. -55 hours a week minimum. -Dealing with angry customers. -Have to wear a dress shirt/suit and tie. -You're basically an overworked counter salesman + a car washer + a chauffeur + an outside salesman + a car delivery person. If you have a college degree, aren't completely into sales, have any ounce of shame and want to look at yourself in the mirror every morning without disgust, run away and don't look back. Trust me.

Pros

Plenty of work and decent benefits. The employees where also great to work with but that's about it for the pros.

Cons

Well, the pay was sub standard and the bonus structure which was designed to compensate for the pay was unachieveable 9/10 times. As a csr, you bring in soooooo much money to the company and as a "good job" they give u 1%

Pros

The only pro i can draw from Hertz is that you meet some good people

Cons

Employees who have been at a local office know all the regular customers that come in and buy insurance, therefore they help these customers and get the newer employees to help people who look broke. Everything is based off selling insurance on rental cars, if you dont sell theyll hire other people and slowly phase you out. Also they say you can get promoted quick, but the problem with that is you have to be top seller in your office every month and have to wait until another office is built which most of the time is in small towns no one wants to go to. Also you'll probably only start out at 10.50 a hour.
