Pros

International environment, lot of people from different background

Cons

One Lady Director and management style is worst. Try not to join under that lady director. She fires a lot and doesn’t have emotional intelligence at all.

Pros

Some good people, usually at lower level. Never had a problem with directors, usually much more understanding and empathetic than team managers. I learned a lot here, very good training.

Cons

Quite frankly, my manager was a bully. I worked for the business for just over 2 years, and the main reason why I dreaded getting up for work in the morning was the thought of spending the day with my manager. Unsupportive, nasty, clearly had favourites and overall was the worst manager I have had in my career. This was something felt across the team, but no one felt they could say anything as they didn't feel they would be listened to. In the end the team voted with their feet.

This is very sad to read and I’m sorry you didn’t have a good experience working for Hays. We don’t tolerate any kind of bullying behaviour so we’d like to investigate this further - could you please contact Trisha Brookes, Director of People and Culture?

Pros

Great training for anhyone with no prior recruitment experience

Cons

My own personal experience left an extremely sour taste in my mouth. Despite having my first child and looking for a work life balance, my director still expected me to work late nights & sacrifice time with my child, despite the fact I was a successful biller in the office and I worked extremely hard during the working day. This is straw that broke the camels back and left to me leaving. There were senior managers who seemed untouchable no matter their performance or inappropriate behaviour due to the fact they were in the pockets of their directors. The KPI management was onerous, even if you were a senior member of staff & billing well.

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear you didn’t have a good experience returning to Hays - it can certainly be difficult and we don’t always get it right but we want to support parents at Hays. Are you open to a discussion with Trisha Brookes, Director of People and Culture, to help us learn and improve?
