Pros

Got to meet some interesting candidates. Associate training was fun, though nothing like our actual day job.

Cons

The people, the culture, the hours... Worked with the shallowest, most empty headed people I've met since secondary school. All dull process, absolute waste of anyone with half a brain.

Pros

Good incentive days but that's it.

Cons

The immense pressure they put on people leads to a lot of mental health issues which then aren't taken seriously. I personally had a few late starts due to panic attacks and when I went to management about this I was told where the door was (though the same MD decided not to discipline high performing consultants caught with Class A drugs...). Disgusting behaviour, DO NOT WORK HERE.

Pros

- 4 weeks of Holiday - Downtown Location - Nice benefits, insurance plans

Cons

Guys, I swear, these are my honest comments, I have got nothing against Hays, and I quit myself cause I couldnt take it anymore. - Low base salary - Its like a call centre, they always expect you to be on the phone. Every single morning, literally every single morning, the VP or one of the directors gives a PEP talk on how they are they are not aggressive sales people but you still need to push and pick up the phone etc. Again, literally every single morning, I am not exaggerating. - Its Business Development, cold call time 5 days a week from 8.30 to 12.00. So, every single day, they will tell you to call clients in the morning, even if you have enough jobs on your sheet, they expect you to do BD. During interview they will say only 20-30 % of your daily tasks is about BD, which is a complete lie. Most people dont like and are not very good at BD and they know this and they just lie about it during the hiring process. - Your base salary wont increase even if you get a promotion, only the commission structure will change. They will not tell you this unless you ask =). - I worked there around 7 months and appx 15-20 people were let go and another 15-20 people were hired, the turnover rate is crazy. - Finally, I am sorry to say this, but there is a clear positive discrimination towards British people. Its a UK based organization and you can easily feel this. OH and btw, my manager asked me several times to stay a little bit later than 5:30. They will be expecting you to work longer hours without extra pay.
