Pros

Can ultimately move you on to bigger and better, and can get you up to speed with onboarding, compliance, and the candidate-led skills the HR/TA career would be looking for.

Cons

Poor base pay for the stress you are constantly under. Managers expect no work/life balance, I've been told that I should spend weekends prepping call lists for a Monday morning. LinkedIn messages and emails sent from managers at 8 pm on a Saturday, then being asked at 8 am on Monday if I'd managed to action it. No, of course I haven't. Your job is constantly held over you. You can be billing like mad, then the first couple of zeros come in, and you will be told to improve this or be asked to leave. The current market and climate mean nothing, the desk doesn't fail, the recruiter fails. Managers will just sit in your emails, they watch your sent box. Everything has to be a KPI. I was once asked why I hadn't sent a single email on a sick day.

Pros

The pay is good and there is plenty of opportunity to earn more money on top of your base pay. But they seem to think that is enough.

Cons

-They promise an extensive training process, but training is "Just do it!" and video calls. The issue is that their system of logging information is inaccurate, it is very confusing and on top of that we are constantly calling the same people over and over again so of course we get no response. -They have no one of color in established positions in the company. Oh I'm sorry, there is one person of color and they use him as their token. -You are measured by things you cannot control. I made over 100 calls but got no responses from those people and because of that the system did not count those in my weekly KPI's. Since my numbers were low, they had me marked to be let go in my second week while they were preaching that it takes time to start getting responses. They began interviewing others for my position by my third week and by my fourth week they had let me go. If you want a company that will treat you like you are valued, don't apply here. If you want a company that will have your back, don't apply here. This is a cut-throat, dog-eat-dog environment and you have to be prepared to deal with that.

Thank you for taking time to share your view and wish you had a better experience. For those that read this review, our new hires undergo an extensive training period as part of Hays Academy. Over one-third of our employee population identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color). Our quest for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion isn't to achieve a target or a number, but rather to promote an inclusive workplace where people can be themselves at work.

Pros

Well known company with a supposed good reputation and some good training available. About it really just don't hold your breath.

Cons

The MDs treat staff as easily disposable, when it comes to promotion time they will pull you to one side and suggest you leave the company otherwise they will sack you. Targets are unrealistic, and they expect you to work longer hours than the 45-50 hour weeks you already work. A real chauvinistic/bullying atmosphere within the office as well. If you are "successful" they are prepared to overlook everything else.
