Pros

Here are some reasons as to why you should work at Hays. There is a great team atmosphere and you can make real friendships. The management are very supportive and will back you 100%. The training schemes are brilliant, there is so much time and resources given to your training. There are often incentives with prizes given to reward work and effort.

Cons

You have to be prepared to work long hours and be able to stay late/come in early when needed.

Pros

Supportive management team Consistent feedback and reviews, with clear targets and activity objectives. Your manager will discuss your aims at the start of the week, and due to key performance indicator update's you can view your activity levels against your success. You will also have more formal reviews with your team manager and director, and brain storm ideas to progress your desk and business. Management have all been consultants at some point, so truly understand your the market and how to grow your fees. If management see your potential, they will push you towards your goals as they truly want you to succeed. Incentives for high performers The office culture of 'celebrating success' is rife with free holidays, lunches/breakfasts, dress down days, Iphones, day trips, Christmas hampers, early finishes, black tie events, vouchers and spa visits. My 'desk' I currently run a 360 temp desk, meaning I speak with clients and candidates on a daily basis. I truly love my job and my temps!! You are encouraged to make strong relationships with both of clients and candidates, and visit your clients as much as possible (the best part of the job). Its great when you are able to place people into environments they are happy in, and your clients are happy with both your service and temps. You can truly make a difference in changing work environments, and it feels good to make a positive impact on your clients companies. It also feels amazing when you finally win over that client that didn't want to speak to you 6 months ago! Excellent training When you begin as an associate consultant you are sent on an intensive course to learn how to become a recruitment consultant. You are put up in a hotel and go to the Hays HQ for your training. I got the head of training on both of my modules and he was incredible! He gave me such confidence and pride in Hays, and as he was previously an incredibly successful consultant it was great to learn from someone who actually 'knows how it is'. Good commission structure Having recently changed to be more competitive against other large rec companies, the new structure will allow you to earn a lot of money in a short amount of time. I can't think of any other job that will allow me to earn what I can with Hays. Excellent database It makes your life a lot easier to be able to contact clients and candidates at the click of a few buttons! From friends/family that are also in recruitment, I know that the systems we use are incredible. Everything is there for you, you just have to pick up the phone and do your job! It also sounds impressive to both candidates and clients when you explain how easy it is to market their details out. Women in Leadership My office director is female, as are many leaders in senior management roles. For me personally its inspiring to see women so high up. If you want to go far in this company, there are no barriers to you, and its possible to get to director level and have a family (if that's what you want to do!). In conclusion.... I have recommended Hays to both friends and family members, I believe it is a great place to work. On a personal level this company has encouraged me to push myself harder than ever before. Everything you put into it results directly in success. I know if I spend an extra hour at the end of the day to resource the perfect candidate, that will mean I will win over that new client, and then I will get that extra fee in, which will mean I get to take home more at the end of the month. Everything links together, and its clear to see where you could go in the future. Its slightly addictive!

Cons

This job will take over your life. When I wake up the first thing I do is arrange bookings, and I've arranged interviews with clients as late as 10.30 pm. Its not a job that you can do half heartedly.
