Toxic workplace for women

Pros

Urban Sports subscription. Some talented and friendly colleagues and interesting operational challenges.

Cons

My experience at Grover left me deeply disappointed with how the company handles workplace conduct and employee safety, particularly for women. On the surface, the company promotes values around respect, inclusion, and psychological safety. In practice, those policies are performative. When I reported bullying and inappropriate behavior from a male colleague, the response from HR was inadequate and the issues were left unresolved. When I escalated the matter to senior management, I didn’t even receive a reply to my email. That silence from leadership says a lot about how seriously employee concerns are taken. As an ambitious woman who speaks up and challenges decisions, I found myself exposed to hostile behavior without meaningful protection or support. Instead of addressing the problem, it was effectively ignored. The situation became so toxic that I decided to leave. No amount of nice colleagues or interesting operational challenges can make up for dealing with day-to-day bullying and harassment. Cons: Weak accountability for workplace conduct, ineffective HR response to serious concerns, and a lack of women in meaningful leadership roles.

Pros

++Amazing innovative product with strong financial potential and positive impact on the environment and consumer mentality. ++The company culture is getting better and better and in some teams it has always been amazing. An international group of intelligent and creative people, it is a pleasure to work with because they enjoy the work, the collaboration, innovation and progress and they know how to scale the business and make it great. +Perks: learning budget, nice office, BVG discount, ClassPass/USC discounts, Grover discounts and FLEXIBILITY (seems the supply is running thin tho..), and a dedicated People team always working hard to make us all happy.

Cons

I am very skeptical that I can find a Job I would enjoy more but I value feedback and Grover can always do better, so here goes: 1. Some policies are a bit too extreme, sign of an immature leadership is when they think they need to choose a side, an opinion, and force it on everyone. 2. Leadership is peppered here and there with people with talent and egos but no leadership xp, these are very intelligent and nice people with potential but they need some training in leadership and to adopt a bottom-up approach and rely more on the experts in their teams. 3. A lot of product managers to manage massive backlogs, but few engineers to work on the backlogs, we need one strong engineering year with double or triple the headcount. 4. Prioritising Reactivity over Proactivity due to pressure from scared investors and shareholders. 5. Low wages
