Pros

Colleages are great and very supportive and understanding

Cons

I've been in the company for a while and a year ago I would have recomended the company. Now a days, I'd tell people to look the other way. When you enter the company they tell you to write a positive review on all social media platforms.... When you've literally been doing an onboarding for 1 week and haven't had any experience in the work-life yet. 1. Lack in leadership 2. CEO's are Money driven given as they have to show investors they can sustain themselves when in reality they cannot. Everything started going downhill since the June... (employees will know) 3. Lack of communication, everything is communicated 1 day in advance or sometimes on the same day... of something being launched and you have 0 preparation and knowledge of how to deal with the situations you will be forced into as a CCM. 4. Sketchy business plans AKA there is no Roadmap provided to Employees of where company is going so everyone is always afraid they are the next ones getting the boot. 5. Lack of recognition. Its frustrating when you're doing a good job and know you are focusing more on quality over quantity, yet those with quantity with barely any quality behind it are the ones getting all the attention 6. FALSE promises. They promised Employee salary reviews and employee benefits only to then make a huge investment and announce it the same day they told us they were removing the benefit and reviews.... "In gostudent we trust" 7. UNDERSTAFFED - But because we overwork and as a consequence, get burnt out, I guess it's fine if we are reaching our target? But if we dont- we get fired? If you don't sacrifice your mental health, you wont make it very far. CCMs dont get enough compensation for having to work weekends and holidays while everyone else is enjoying a 4 day weekend.

Pros

First of all, I would be careful trusting the many positive reviews here. The company has expanded a lot recently and there are lots of new recruits, who are asked to submit a review within the first month at the company when it all seems to be very positive… A very nice working environment where we all get along and have fun. We also get free coffee and snacks on Mondays.

Cons

1. The work schedule is NOT flexible at all even if they promote it as such in both the website and the interview (unless you work in DACH or the UK markets, where they do enjoy these benefits). They force us to work overtime to reach our targets but you never get paid for that overtime. 2. There is little chance of growing within the company. The communication with C-Level management is very limited, they want to come across as approachable but that’s not the case, not anymore at least (it used to be before). They encourage constructive criticism yet they shut down any opinion that challenges their unhealthy growth (like when we are required to sell in a dishonest and shady way…). 3. HR hasn’t created a safe space for the employees. Discussing negative aspects of the job or your managers with them is basically the same as speaking to the managers themselves, as they seem to be more fond of the managers than the employees they’re supposed to help. They even sometimes share the same office space (unheard of at other companies). 4. The hard work of us sales reps is usually unappreciated (unless you extremely overperform) and the recognition of reaching the target tends to be given to the managers, not the actual sales reps that made it happen! However, when the market underperforms for whatever reason (poor marketing, low season, etc.), that’s when the sales reps get all the blame and even threats of getting fired for underperformance. Which is ironic, considering that many of the managers are far more incompetent than the regular employees (some Country Managers even struggling using the most basic software tools that we work with). 5. COVID: They’ve never taken this seriously AT ALL. We were allowed to go to the office without masks on nor keep any safety distance between employees, and even when there was a COVID case among us, that person was asked to keep it quiet so as not to alarm the others, rather than informing everyone about it. Extremely irresponsible. PS. Be especially careful if you want to work in the Spanish, Italian or French markets, as that’s where the most toxic aspects that I described here tend to happen.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. It’s unfortunate to hear that your experience with us has not met your expectations, and that you have felt unappreciated. This is not what we stand for, and we are committed to ensuring that every employee feels valued and supported. Please allow us to address your feedback a bit more into detail: We foster a flexible working environment on a global level and are surprised that you could not feel this mindset in the market you are working for. As a current team member, we advise you to approach our HR department, who will confidentially look into your individual case and make sure that your feedback is raised with your market leaders. Our Founders and C-Level team encourage every employee to feel empowered to share direct feedback. We foster an open door policy and provide new and existing employees the opportunity to share ideas and thoughts during our founders lunches and our C-level meet-ups, and every member of our team can reach these individuals via Slack, in person at our office in Vienna, or in our various office locations that the senior team regularly travel to. As we grow, we are committed to ensuring that our culture of open, honest communication remains intact, and our executive team sees this as key to the company's culture. We are also keen to share that during the Covid-19 pandemic we have continually offered employees the opportunity to work from home if they feel uncomfortable coming to the office. As a current team member, you are familiar with our GoStudent Fundamentals and how strongly we live them. We have these in place to empower and encourage our team. We urge all employees to challenge the status quo and provide honest and open feedback so that we can grow together as a company. We would like to invite you to reach out to our HR Team directly to discuss how we can best support you moving forward. We wish you all the best and lots of success! Best regards, Anna, Head of HR

Pros

Cons

Leadership deserves to be put on blast for their horrid behavior. It’s the worst kind of rich boys club. Users and abusers. Avoid at all costs.
