      great experience but a lot of work

      -flexible hours (depending on adviser) -able to take classes while doing work -like-minded invidivduals

      Cons

      -reasonable stipend, but low compared to industry (especially if you're CS or can get into a top company in your field) -bad advisers (like you would in the workplace)
