Pros

Career progression, variety, inclusion, personal growth, and beyond are key strengths.

Cons

Similar to other corporate giants, the pace of innovation can be very slow, and is rarely bleeding edge. Fast Follower is a common turn thrown around and strived towards, but rarely achieved. 2010-2020 were particularly downward trending years in terms of forward momentum created by management and org structure. Too frequent re-orgs, motivated by cost cutting and leadership shake-ups, have taken a grave toll.

Pros

Talented people, good benefits, opportunities for growth, business has performed very well recently.

Cons

Culture has diminished recently (used to be its greatest strength) following massive reorganization. Employees lost a lot of respect for management. Morale is the lowest I’ve seen during my 10 years at Mills.

Pros

Wonderful benefits with some* truly lovely people. * as with any company, there are good and bad folks.

Cons

No true career paths for designers/creatives. Very difficult to negotiate higher pay, even with great annual reviews and data to prove their pay is below industry standard. Upper management is out of touch from average employees and consumers and largely comprised of sociopaths incapable of empathy and true compassion. Leadership team and CEO are treated as if they’re celebrities and “more than” regular people. SUPER creepy. Very much a culture of talking the talk but never walking the walk. A bunch of people delegating but not actual doing the true work.
