Misses the Mark on Values

Pros

Pay and benefits are commensurate with average, but decreasing and are not competitive anymore. Not sure what else to say here.

Cons

Doesn't live up to values anymore. The company is losing ground and is moving too slowly. Too many restructures leave employees feeling overworked and overwhelmed to compensate for losses. People don't feel comfortable speaking up.

Pros

The greatest thing about working for General Mills is the ability to have a life. The benefit structure and the work environment fully support the ability to maintain excellent work/life balance. Part-time schedules, work flex schedules and telecommuting are all fantastic and available options for those who work in the Minneapolis area.

Cons

Slow, bureaucratic, entrenched culture. The volume of meetings required to get work done will crush your soul. The company calls this being "collaborative" but what it really means is "you are not actually empowered to do the job we hired you do to do, so we're going to make you cover off with everyone and their dog to get your job done." It's rather sad, because there are whip smart people here.
