The people I work with are amazing - intelligent, creative, determined- and in most cases, all working toward the same goal. The company is one of the best with regard to benefits, and has been named one of the best places to work for many years running. I use many of the benefits, including the onsite daycare, the medical staff, the fitness center, the physical therapist, the credit union, the auto service center - I could go on... I've never worked for someone at GMI who didn't feel had my best interests in mind at all times.

Great hands on work, especially for those just out of school. They do a great job of recruiting engineers or those with technical backgrounds and putting them in leadership roles right away. It is great if you have a techincal background but don't want to spend your days sitting behind a computer. If you work for GMI as a Team Leader, you will be out on the production floor, working with employees and also working with senior management on strategic decisions. When you start, you will be managing employees and having a direct impact on the company within no time. You will be able to keep production lines running and making decisions quickly. It is rare to be out of college for only a few months and be able to manage people, but General Mills does this. They push you and give you lots of responsibilities but do provide an excellent support structure and resources while you are new. They also do a great job of netowrking and sending people to other areas (especially if you are in a small town) so you can meet many people holding leadership roles throughout the company. Finally, the pay is great and very competitive. Salary is good and the bonuses are good as well.
