Pros

Some of the people working there are ok.

Cons

Managers do not provide accurate info. Everything is always complete but never is. Constantly blaming QA for production's mistakes. Very combative, shady place to work. All the managers date the younger girls that work for them and move them up the ladder, others are left without much movement upwards. Even the CEO dates one of the lawyers in the legal dept.

Just a paycheck, not a career

Pros

Cool products. Some really smart people. I really like my job, but the company culture is so bad that it makes most people disgruntled. Every other Friday off is nice.

Cons

Horrible culture. Employees left out of the loop on purpose. Management tries to keep engineers talking to customers. A lot of infighting - multiple personal "kingdoms". Most supervisors not trained properly. HR is absolutely worthless. Two classes of people at GA: the managers and the "sorry people". Employees blamed for management screw-ups.

Waste of Time

Pros

9/80 Work Schedule and every other Friday Off.

Cons

Low Pay. Absolutely no opportunity for advancement or growth. They have a company policy that you cannot move up into another position if it is more than 7% of your current pay. There are many internal talented employees that are not considered for positions due to this rule. It's absurd. They would rather hire from the outside and pay someone more than give a more than qualified internal employee the promotion and raise. Poor Management. Too many Chiefs and too little Indians. If you are retired Military, you are given a job even though you have no experience. No matter how hard you work, you will receive the said raise as someone who is a total slacker. No recognition for your work accomplishments Awful Time Card System. No flexibility with time. No overtime allowed and if you do work overtime, it will be removed from your timecard. There is no "team" mentality. Most departments would rather fight against each other than work together.
