Pros

The company as a whole is a great place to work - the culture is very strong and supportive. The communication - especially from management - during COVID-19 has been very good. It's a unique place to work in that it is a publically traded; but run by the Gallagher family - which makes the culture that much stronger. Another unique aspect is that Gallagher is very entrepreneurial in that they are always striving to find new ways to address issues; which allows for people to be creative and launch new initiatives. One of the biggest initiatives and I would say unexpected benefits is the Internship Program - where 5-600 interns descend on Gallagher offices and it makes the work environment very exciting. The service to the community component is also an unexpected benefit in that Gallagher invests in communities and programs in which we live. The company has launched many national and regional partnerships and sponsorships (Special Olympics, Sports teams and Leagues (UK).

Cons

As with any company, there are downsides; however, in my opinion, the good outweighs the bad. The benefits offered need an upgrade in general - they could offer more creative and relevant benefits to younger people (college debt programs, etc.) Medical plans are expensive and are all high deductible plans. The company does contribute to the high deductible plans - which helps, but is not substantial.

Pros

Work/Life balance is fantastic People are helpful and collaborative Unlimited sick days Scott Hudson writes newsletters very often and they are super insightful and worthy of saving to read and re-read rest of your life. Never seen CEO taking time to do that. Keep it going, Scott! Scott comes by once in a while and provides a personal touch. Incredible, Scott!

Cons

Old aged company means you would be working with plenty out of date processes and technologies Atleast in the BI department, there is no process / structure. Very micro-managed company due to budgeting issues (time reports have to be done everyday and have to account every 15 min for every single phase of every project). If you bill more than 2.5hrs of admin a day, you have to provide report on what you did for admin time. Too many redundant meetings Too cost concious Pays low; insurance is the worst I have ever seen No salary bump at year end; instead they give you 12% bonus (accounts for a lot but could be manipulated)

Pros

Relaxed environment, friendly co-workers, supervisors vary, the Gallagher Way is inspiring but it's a huge lie. I don't think top company management is aware of the unethical business practices.

Cons

Pay is a good $10,000 under the going rate at every position. Medical insurance is awful. I feel uncomfortable with things they have us do. I've never worked somewhere so unethical and they claim to be "one of the most ethical companies in the world".
