Pros

Our company was acquired by Gallagher so I had little say in the matter of whether or not I preferred them. - They check all the right boxes and have nice perks - As with most large companies, the processes in place are well-oiled and straightforward - Lots of community involvement is nice - I'll give credit where due and say their inclusivity is refreshing

Cons

- Health Benefits are boasted as being great, but I personally think they're terrible. They're all high-deductible with very little contribution from Gallagher for you and your family. I've never had an insurance plan that required me to meet my deductible before prescriptions were covered. - No bonuses given, and as far as I am aware, raises are very small if any, an no COLA adjustments - The transition has been an absolute mess. It's like they bought our company and decided to ask questions later about financials. It's absolutely insane.

Pros

- interesting clients - Boston location - passionate coworkers (apart from management - review won't let me post without a minimum of 20 words, so adding this here.

Cons

- you will not have a life outside of work. You are expected to work or be available to work, 24/7. No exceptions. If you call in sick, you are expected to work. If you take a vacation day, you are expected to work. Weekends are for work, not for doing the things at home to keep your family functioning. - Very political. No way of resolving issues. Management doesn't care. - account executives treat client and office service staff with incredible disrespect. - huge turnover. Large amounts of burnout, many employees seen crying or panicking. Managers don't care. - very questionable processes and ethics on the larger corporate scale. Professional standards for some processes border internal E&O risk. - older, long-term employees post-merger are being fired quietly. - expensive benefits that cover only the bare minimums. But you can (wait for it) do even more work to jump through hoops for meager "discounts" on it. - everything is done on the cheap. But they spent millions apparently in marble and perks at the new corporate office. Meanwhile, starting in August we'll have to pray to get pens and paper.

Horrible management and HR Team

Pros

The pros are in the past. AJG used to feel like a family. Now the employees are just another cog in the wheel. AJG only values the money makes. Everyone else in a minion.

Cons

AJG only cares about the money makers. Everyone else gets pushed aside. Millions of dollars paid to the sales team while everyone else gets told no increases or bonuses due to budget. Good luck going to HR with any of your concerns. Most HRD’s and managers are friendly and have each others backs. If you don’t kiss the ground your manager walks on, you’ll soon be getting your walking papers. Senior leadership, no matter how friendly they seem, will turn their backs on you in the blink of an eye. My direct manager made sexual comments to me which I brought to HR and was told just to ignore him. AJG claims to stand by their core values and the Gallagher Way but all the care about is who’s making the most money got their bottom line and who’s going to keep their heads down and take orders. DO NOT WORK HERE!!
