GLG Response

Thank you for sharing your feedback. The health of our colleagues always comes first, and we regret we couldn’t address your concerns while you were still with the company. As an organization, we’ve made significant progress to meet the moment we’re in. Teams have more flexibility than ever before. Our current hybrid model gives GLGers the option to work in one of our state-of-the-art offices or entirely remotely, based on personal preferences and circumstances. We’re also drawing hard lines around holidays and long weekends – including designated time off periods – to ensure GLGers are taking the time they need; hiring to ensure teams have additional levels of support and coverage to stay on top of client projects; and continuing to normalize time off the desk during regular business hours. While our people no doubt work hard, we are committed to setting clearer expectations to help combat burnout and continuing to provide tools and resources to proactively support wellness. We’re determined to find new ways to make GLG a great place to work for everybody – regardless of role, department, or level of seniority.

Pros

The product is amazing. It’s a really interesting opportunity to talk to incredible people and understand how the smartest people in any given field think. The social impact program is also really great.

Cons

Innovation is discouraged at every level. Glg hires people and doesn’t realize that their fresh eyes are an asset and instead tries to force them to think like a glg’er. There is no opportunity to solve problems that you might notice or experiment creatively. Promos and management are extremely political. Hard work isn’t necessarily rewarded if you don’t know the right people. Work life balance is also abysmal. Since this is a lot of people’s first jobs they don’t necessarily realize that these things shouldn’t be acceptable.
