Pros

- health insurance - nice coworkers - great culture

Cons

When you first interview at GLG, you will think you have found the best job opportunity. - You have to typically work extra hours to succeed at this job. I would start work at 8/8:30am and not log off until around 7pm. It's not a requirement but there's a lot of pressure to meet your metrics and if you do not meet them, you are placed on a PIP. - Horrible work life balance. This job is very stressful. The amount of work you juggle in a single day should be illegal. Sometimes I didn't even have time to get up to eat or even use the bathroom. By the time work is over, I'm drained and I don't have energy to do anything else. - They will say everyone gets the same opportunity to succeed but that's wrong. Certain people get better projects than others and are able to meet their metrics faster. Upper management does not care about that either. If you don't meet your metrics, your job is at risk despite what you went through. - They say "unlimited PTO" but the reality is, you are still required to meet the same amount of metrics despite how many days you take off. So it's really "unlimited PTO at your own risk" - I was laid off in the middle of a work day with a 2 weeks severance package and when the meeting ended, they revoked my access to absolutely everything literally 2 minutes later. - Last but not least, you will think the people here are your friends. LOL think again. They are trauma bonds and nothing more. You don't even have time to make friends here, the work is too much to do so. Apply to work here if you want your life to be miserable. Please remember that you will spend most of your day at work and not that much time for your family at the end of the day. Keep that in mind when applying!

Pros

I created great friendships, as we trauma bonded over the horrible experience and working conditions we had as employees of this company.

Cons

I honestly could write a novel about how much I hate GLG, but theyre not worth it. Prior to accepting my offer at GLG, I looked at Glassdoor and decided to ignore the negative reviews; a word of advice, from my experience, they are absolutely accurate. I have had a positive experience in every other role I have had prior to joining GLG.   GLG comments about how the work is not for everyone and they are in a competitive environment. Clearly, the work is not for humans given the company-wide, extremely high hire turnover rate, and specifically in client services on my team. There were about 7+ people who left within a couple of months of me beginning, out of a team of about 20. They simply do not care about you as a human being; I didn’t even feel like I was seen as a person during my time there by management. Also, if you like to justify treating employees poorly by stating that you are in a competitive industry, consider this-I know people who work for competitors of GLG and they do not treat their employees this way.   Of course, a lot of your experience at GLG depends on your team and manager, but I can promise you every new hire on my team felt the same way. Oh also, you really won’t learn many transferrable skills here. The managers have little working experience outside of GLG and more are promoted out of necessity, not because they are good at or have much experience managing others.   Also you are basically expected to not move from your computer all day from 8:30-6:00.   You can imagine the plethora of other negative things I have to say about this company and role, but I tried to keep is as short as possible, and even then, I have so many reasons why I would not even recommend this job to my worst enemy. Please take any other job. Every single one of the new hires on my team has had mental breakdowns and cried over this job because of how out of touch the leadership and managers are. Some needed to be prescribed medication because of how this joke of a company has impacted their life. It’s not worth it.

Pros

-most people are very friendly, funny, & real if you get an opportunity to know them a little bit -learn a good amount of basic skills & practice multi-tasking/prioritizing

Cons

-10 or more hours a day usually (8:30 - 6:30 on a good day) -taking lunch is all but discouraged. They obviously can’t not let you take lunch, but most people work through their lunch because walking away for 30min-1hr is basically not an option sometimes, given the amount of work that is expected we complete -making clients happy comes before employee wellness and before network member satisfaction

GLG Response
4y
We’re glad you’ve made such strong connections since joining the company. It’s encouraging to know strong friendships develop between GLG teammates, even in a remote work environment. While we expect a certain level of responsiveness from our client-facing teams, the health and wellbeing of our employees always come first. This is why we’ve taken steps to become a more flexible organization, with the option to continue working from home, in addition to no preset limit on PTO. We recognize that free time is important, which is why we continue to increase our headcount to support our global teams and meet the demands of our growing business. This also means investing in new tools to streamline workflows, giving Associates more time to focus on building deeper relationships with clients. As the leader in a tightly competitive industry, we do hold ourselves to high standards. Ultimately, the role you're in may not be a perfect fit for everybody. That’s why we offer a wide range of internal mobility opportunities to better fit everyone’s long term professional goals. Your HR business partner can help you understand your options. We appreciate your feedback.
