Pros

Great colleagues that work there, from associates to managers.

Cons

Unfortunately, I am extremely concerned about HRs inability to protect its employees in the private equity segment. During my time at the company I observed bullying, coercion and threatening behaviour if you raised any issues about workload or company culture. Mental and physical health is also disregarded - employees with poor mental and physical (including long term illnesses) were told “off the record” to find jobs elsewhere as GLG could not do work adjustments for people who were facing physical illnesses. This is a serious breach of employee rights and should be reported to an independent body. Employees were too scared to tell HR that they were being pushed out due to their physical and mental illnesses and didn’t raise it as they didn’t want to make their day to day even worse. The management responsible for breaching the Equality Act has received promotions, rather than being cautioned. I myself was threatened by a senior individual when I spoke out about workload - she ensured to derail my career and shared information of what I had said, leading to harassment from other colleagues. I had no choice but to stop speaking out as I had seen many individuals suffer before (and after) me. My colleagues were too scared to speak out about their experiences for fear of retaliation. These are very serious allegations to make and I do so for the many employees who have suffered under this management. I would expect that HR conduct a full review and protect employees anonimity when they raise their issues.

Pros

Unlimited PTO, health insurance, and FMLA/STD after one year

Cons

Discontinued the PSS role without severance package. Found a dirty corporate loophole of funneling PSS employees into a role that doubles as PSS and CS. This new CS role is a 9.5 hour day 8:30am-6pm with 3 hours of on call time from 6-9pm and a starting salary of $58k for junior, $64k for senior. No overtime. 3 days in office. Eligible for 12% bonus when meeting targets. Overall, you get 3.5 hours of your waking life a day to make $4,400/month after taxes in a senior CS role having achieved all eligible bonuses. Absolutely terrible way to live if you ask me.

Pros

Honestly the only real positive of the job is the benefits they offer and flexibility when it comes to remote/hybrid work. You will learn good project management and how to speak concisely to high level leadership at client companies.

Cons

Too much to write here, but to try and summarize a few key points: - Very novice leadership that don’t know how to manage nor go beyond reading metrics from a spreadsheet. - Very turn and burn style workflow. They claim you get so much knowledge and experience across many industries (which you do to some extent), but at the end of the day not enough to really provide you with any sort of benefit or real insight. You’re always so high level and clients don’t care about you and just want things done quick. Often topics are so niche and irrelevant that it’s like people are speaking separate languages and expecting you to be fluent in them. Clients are very needy and often not super enjoyable to work with. - You gotta play the politics game or you’ll be on the outs. Very “office politics” driven and a who knows who game. If you’re not in the circle, you’re on the outs. - Even as you become more tenured, with the recent economic decline you’ll be forced to do very entry level, menial, and grind work or they withhold bonuses and pay. - They often go back on promises. When I started I was pitched an entirely different experience and role than what I actually came in to. - No one really likes what they do. Everyone always is complaining about the work and how the culture is always “more, more, more” with very little time incentive to do so. It’s not a job that’s conducive to growth or workplace happiness.
