Pros
Great colleagues that work there, from associates to managers.
Cons
Unfortunately, I am extremely concerned about HRs inability to protect its employees in the private equity segment. During my time at the company I observed bullying, coercion and threatening behaviour if you raised any issues about workload or company culture. Mental and physical health is also disregarded - employees with poor mental and physical (including long term illnesses) were told “off the record” to find jobs elsewhere as GLG could not do work adjustments for people who were facing physical illnesses. This is a serious breach of employee rights and should be reported to an independent body. Employees were too scared to tell HR that they were being pushed out due to their physical and mental illnesses and didn’t raise it as they didn’t want to make their day to day even worse. The management responsible for breaching the Equality Act has received promotions, rather than being cautioned. I myself was threatened by a senior individual when I spoke out about workload - she ensured to derail my career and shared information of what I had said, leading to harassment from other colleagues. I had no choice but to stop speaking out as I had seen many individuals suffer before (and after) me. My colleagues were too scared to speak out about their experiences for fear of retaliation. These are very serious allegations to make and I do so for the many employees who have suffered under this management. I would expect that HR conduct a full review and protect employees anonimity when they raise their issues.
