      Pros

      Amazing technology and problem solving. The opportunity to work with some of the most brilliant people I've ever met. Freedom and hands-off management.

      Cons

      Recent budget cuts (under new VP) destroying the company. No money to test or develop new technology. Sustaining engineering being sent overseas. Recently no overtime, and after layoffs everyone is overworked and underpaid. They took all the fun out of it - it was my dream job, as well as others, and many of the best engineers have left or want to leave.

      Pros

      If you are willing to sacrifice home life you can travel and move from job to job every year.

      Cons

      Company too big and too many generic processes that are applied across all businesses. Nothing meaningful can get done in a useful timeframe. Stock price reflects the lack of direction. It is attempting to call itself a Digital Company in order to attract younger engineers, but there is nothing digital about the company except the computer systems used to control equipment they manufacture.

      Great Customers. Great Project Team Members. Great Location. GE paid for my relocation, including: temporary housing for 6-months, realtor fees on both ends to sell my previous house and buy a new house, and travel expenses. Benefits are fair. 401K Match up to 4%, but vesting doesn't take place until your 3-Yr anniversary. Flexible about working from home if needed.

      Cons

      Business Mgmt is unethical and create adversarial relationships with the customers. Business Mgmt has a "Not Invented Here [NIH]" syndrome and "Do it my way or the highway" mentality. I have experienced Retaliation and Bullying from Business Mgmt and watch me & fellow employees be thrown under the bus for decisions we were forced to implement despite identifying & advising about the negatives to the customer. Very Bureaucratic. Bogged down by un-tailorable, non-value add processes. Decision making takes extraordinarily long time due to multiple, multiple stakeholders who have to be involved or be sabotaged by later.
