Pros
They fire people who suck. Big shocker to those who got fired though! Glad GDS addressed this. No time or room for people who can't function as professionals.
Despite these negative posts who I know first hand are from people who just got fired for lack of production, laziness and-or poor attitude, if you work hard like any sensible professional you will without a doubt succeed here.
There is really nothing holding you back from taking ownership of your priorities and delivering. I liked the freedom and not having a manager or corporate structure breathing down my neck all the time. Maybe GDS puts too much trust in its employees and people take advantage of that. That's on the employee, not the company.
There are people here that make a lot of money. It realistically takes about a year because you have to book the client, they have to pay, they have to attend- it's a lengthy process. But when you book several consistently, that's a nice big paycheck every month. If you hit your yearly target, the bonus is huge!
The business is changing, from the product, to the people, to the content. It's a transition phase that is only getting better and better.
They restructured the commission brackets which are actually awesome.
Cons
Disgruntled former employees writing bad stuff about the company
Those same employees lying to clients who then write bad posts, which affects everyone
There is a disconnect of communication between US & UK- small issues brought to attention are rarely addressed in a timely fashion
There isn't much of a corporate ladder but who cares when you're your own boss making good money. A title is just a title.
